Biography

Grace Sterling Clark was born on Friday, March 16, 1990 In Albuquerque, New Mexico to Anne deLain W. Clark and Blair Clark. When Grace was about eight months old, she moved with her parents to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where they still live today. Grace began stage acting at five with the Southwest Children's Theatre, which performs at the Santa Fe Playhouse. She performed as a student actor in various lead and supporting roles twice a year from Fall 1995 through Spring 2002. In Fall 2002 (at the age of 12), she began assistant teaching with the Southwest Children's Theatre as a volunteer, then became paid staff in Fall 2005, and continued teaching through the end of her senior year at Santa Fe High in Spring 2008. In April of 2005, Grace, her brother - Sawyer, and her father all were extras in "North Country" in the scene outside the hockey rink. It was this same scene that was shown as the film clip for Charlize Theron at the 2006 Oscars when she won Best Actress. All three Clarks were clearly visible in the clip. In Fall 2005, Grace began auditioning for screen roles through representation by the A&M Agency. Grace's first credited role (Summer - girlfriend of Tyler) is in the second episode of the second season of the Starz TV series "Crash." However, Crash's audience first sees Grace's character (uncredited), Summer, for a few seconds near the end of the second season's first episode. Grace's father, Blair Clark, is the photographer for the Museums of New Mexico. Her mother, Anne deLain W. Clark, is a collage artist, photographer, and the Coordinator of the NM Radioactive Waste Consultation Task Force. Grace's brother, Sawyer Riordan Clark, also began stage acting at the age of five through the Southwest Children's Theatre, and began assistant teaching with the group in Summer 2009. Sawyer is also represented by the A&M Agency, and was in a principle roll in the 2006 Chevy truck commercial called "Fence Line." That same year he was an extra in the diner scene in "Have Dreams Will Travel," which was never released in theaters in the United States.
