Mariah Roberson

Biography

Mariah Roberson was born on July 9, 1994 in Austin, Texas. She is the daughter of Lisa and Scott Roberson and has a younger sister, Megan. Mariah Roberson has been singing since the age of seven, but she made her biggest debut at the age of 12 with the Urban Soul Band as a vocalist at the annual Urban Music Fest on April 6, 2007. Mariah has opened for such superstars as Sean Kingston, Anthony Hamilton and Frankie J. Mariah continued to make an impression in her hometown by winning the Austin's Got Talent Competition in April 2008. Growing up in Austin, Mariah always dreamed of becoming a famous performer. Her parents put her in singing lessons when she was seven with Make A Joyful Noise Organization, which led to various performances as a singer. In addition to singing lessons, she enhanced her vocal talents and stage presence with Shining Starz Program. She continues to perform with her school's choir and sings as a guest at various church events across the state. Mariah won the American Idol Experience on March 15, 2009 at Hollywood Studios. Mariah cites Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey as her musical influences.
