Biography

Govind, known as 'Guv', is a Malaysian of Sri Lankan decent who was born in England while his parents were briefly living there. The middle child of five boys, Govind grew up in Malaysia till the age of 15 when he moved to England to study at The Leys School in Cambridge. After finishing both his GCSE's and A Levels there, Govind moved to Oxford and gained a 1st Class Honours Degree in Film Studies. During this time he wrote, directed and produced a number of short films, notably: "Double or Nothing", "The Interviews" and "Across the Street". It is also at Brookes that Guv met frequent collaborators Alex Rawet, Jason Allitt, James Johnson, Patrick Watremez, and Luke Osbond. Having completed his studies, Govind continued to work in the industry whilst taking up a teaching role at Oxford Brookes University, as Technical Specialist on the practical pathway for the degree programme.
