Tanmay Dhanania

Biography

Tanmay Dhanania trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). He played Naseem Ali Khan in Indian Summers (2015) and Ajay in Brahman Naman (2016) which premiered in competition at the Sundance Film Festival, 2016 and went on to be India's first Netflix Original. He played Prince Jeejeebuoy in The Durrells of Corfu and Phanishwar in Garbage, which premiered at the 68th Berlinale. and is now on Netflix. Tanmay is in Cat Sticks which won the jury award at Slamdance 2019 and is now on Mubi. His 4th feature film as a lead actor Nazarband(Captive) is going to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival 2020. Tanmay holds a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He was one of the core members of the theatre group Tin Can in the city of Calcutta, where he is from.
