Biography

Jamey Hastings grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. She attended the National High School Institute in Radio, Television, Video, and Film at Northwestern University in 1999. She graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Digital Media Studies from The University of Denver in 2004. Hastings spent time as a news photographer and editor before becoming a producer and director at Pikes Peak Library District. In 2012, she earned a Heartland Emmy for the short documentary, "Colorado Springs Beat: The News Photography of Stan Payne." In 2014, she was granted a Silver Telly along with Heather Jordan for the feature-length documentary, In Our Own Backyard: Reflections on the Waldo Canyon Fire. Her films "Dink" and "Ten Past Two" have screened in a number of small film festivals and conventions across the U.S.
