New England native Tom D'Angora is a multi award winning Producer and Director. Tom created, wrote, and is the Executive Producer of Mélange, a new serialized drama starring Morgan Fairchild. He also served as a producer for the films Emma, Mangus, and The Big Gay Musical. As lead Producer and Show Runner to the Off Broadway mega hit NEWSical the Musical (over 2,900 performances), he won the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical as well as three Drama Desk nominations and received a Mayoral and Senate Proclamation. Tom gained notoriety in the theatre scene when he brought several high profile celebrities to the show including Perez Hilton, Carson Kressley, Kandi Burruss, Cheri Oteri, Jackee, and La Toya Jackson - which featured Tom and NEWSical on the OWN Network's "Life With La Toya". Tom first made waves in NYC as a singer and comedian, winning the Backstage Bistro Award for Best Musical Comedy for his one man extravaganza, Divas I've Done. The show played for 3 years with sold out runs at Upstairs at Studio 54, in LA, Boston, and Provincetown. He was honored as one of Playbill's "Vocal Heros of 2003" and performed at Joe's Pub in their "Leading Men" concert along side Broadway's biggest leading men at the time! In 2005 D'Angora was the youngest lead producer in NY at the helm of a major commercial production, A Broadway Diva Christmas It was a star studded holiday concert featuring some of Broadway's biggest leading ladies. Besides NEWSical D'Angora has three other musicals on the boards in New York, Naked Boys Singing (one of the longest running shows in NYC history), The Marvelous Wonderettes, and Addy & Uno (the first family musical in history about disability, inclusion, and kindness). Tom has also served as producer/director/writer to countless other plays, albums, concerts, and special events.
Tom's proudest achievements are his positions with the Hillary Clinton 2008 and 2016 campaigns.
