Kevin Haefelin

Biography

Kevin was born in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2005 he moved to the United States and during his high school years, he worked part time as cameraman for the South Carolina state television. In 2007, he moved back to Geneva to study cinematography, at the Geneva Film School, for a year. Gradually, Kevin is heading toward film directing. In 2008 he was accepted at the Geneva University of Art and Design in film directing. During his film school, he directed a couple of short films including "Maman", which is part of the collection "La faute à Rousseau" that contains films by Jacob Berger, Frédéric Mermoud and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. (Released on DVD in early 2012.) In 2011, he graduates with special recognition by the Jury. "Tirages en série" is his bachelor's film which was selected in competition in more than thirty international film festivals, including the 64° Locarno Film Festival and the 12th Beverly Hills International Film Festival. He also won the Audience Favorite Award at the Red Wasp Film Festival in Texas. In 2012 Kevin co-directed and produced his first feature film "Puta Libre", an action-grindhouse film, along with his mate Blaise Villars. They created the team "Stach' Bros" to produce more independent B-movie-style features. He also directed "Black Out", the first music video for the band "Motherockers". He is working on the development of a new feature film "Passagoona" a dark comedy that will be shot in Texas and written by Marcel Beaulieu.
