Biography

David Mejias is a Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Producer and Writer. Currently living in New Jersey. A native of Puerto Rico he moved to New Jersey with his family at a young age. In 1994 he began his studies at The Art Institute of Philadelphia with a major in Music and Video Business. Graduated with Honors, he received an Associate's Degree in Specialized Business. In 1996, David worked as a camera operator and editor for "Steppin' Out Productions" in Cherry Hill, New Jersey after the completion of his internship. For several years, he worked in the production of Commercials, Corporate Videos and Independent Television shows. These programs were televised on WWAC TV53 Atlantic City, New Jersey, Garden State Cable TV and WPPX TV61 Philadelphia. At WPPX TV61, studios were used to interview a panel of guests. David worked additional roles as Technical Director and Floor Manager. In 2006, he became a freelancer and immediately received a position in the production of two music videos filmed in Philadelphia: "The Wave" by "Movies With Heroes" and "Astropop" by Lourds. In 2008, David wrote, produced and directed his first independent short film, Lake of Blood. The film won the 2009 and 2010 Best Horror Short Films Awards in the New York International Independent Video and Film Festival in New York and Los Angeles. In 2010, the film was screened in the Cannes Film Festival - Short Film Corner in Cannes, France. In 2011, David wrote, produced and directed his first feature film "Nocturnal After Hours." The film won the 2011 Rising Star Award for Best Feature Film in the Canada International Film Festival. It also won the 2011 Best Screeplay Award in the Yosemite Film Festival and the 2011 Best Comedy Award in the Oregon Film Awards. Both films are on sale on amazon.com and featured on IMDB.com. In 2012, David directed two music videos. "Love Indestructible" and "Wirble" by Jpizzee and the Yerrp crew. Within the same year, David and the band made a television appareance on Reality Dance TV hosted by Daila Rae in Philadelphia, PA.
