Yolie Cortez

Yolie Cortez is a second generation Mexican-American TV writer born and raised in Southern California. She's a writer on Disney Channel's recently announced series, "Hailey's On It!" starring Auli'i Cravalho, and her episode of Disney Junior's much anticipated shorts series, "Rise Up, Sing Out" done in collaboration with The Roots, will air early 2022. She is also in development on several projects with Disney Junior and has previously done freelance in the comedy live-action space, having written the premiere episode of Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns" Season 2. Her work has been awarded and showcased at the Writers Guild of America, West, and she is a proud alum of the National Hispanic Media Coalition Television Writers' program, sponsored by ABC/Disney and NBC/Universal. Yolie began her career in production, producing several award-winning short films, and prior to joining Disney Channel as a writer, Yolie was a key creative development executive for Disney Junior, who played an integral role in developing Disney Junior's upcoming "Alice's Wonderland Bakery" and "Firebuds."
