Darian Lane was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, raised in Bethesda, Maryland. Graduated Arizona State University and studied at the Meisner School of Theatre for two years. Wrote two produced plays; Beautiful Corpses & The Broadway Play at the American Renegade Theatre and The Stella Adler Theatre.
Lane went on to become an Assistant Director for Music Videos and Commercials. Most notable for Black Eyed Peas, Beyoncé, Ashlee Simpson, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Pharrell & Gwen Stefani, Natalie Portman, Muhammad Ali and American Express.
Lane has also written such projects as; 'Lunes de Fiel', 'Elmer Gantry (the remake)', 'Saul/Paul (The Story of the Apostle Paul)', 'Contempt', 'The AD', 'Nine Months', 'Cher Cinema', 'Martial Parallel', 'casebook', 'Same Sex Love', 'The Collector (2013)' and 'At The Ballet'.
In 2008 Lane emerged with his directorial debut, 'The Hitchhiking Game'. He followed it up with short films such as; 'casebook', 'Marie', 'Same Sex Love' and his newest feature films 'The Collector (2016)' and 'At The Ballet'.
Darian Lane is the uncredited creator of the Starz television show 'Flesh & Bone' based on 'At The Ballet'.
He also created the beach volleyball reality show 'AVP' (2017).
