Biography

Guy Adkins was born in East Lansing, Michigan on October 3rd, 1968. He grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and studied dance and musical theatre at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. He spent years honing his craft in Chicago, Illinois, where he became a highly respected and beloved presence in both musical theatre and straight plays. In 2007 he toured the country as Oscar Lindquist in "Sweet Charity" opposite Molly Ringwald. In 2008 he moved to New York City, where he achieved rapid success, landing roles on NBC's "Kings" and a hilarious turn on "30 Rock". His last role was as Chris in the highly acclaimed independent film "The David Dance", which filmed in early 2009 and was released in March 2014. Guy was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer in 2009, and died on May 12, 2010. He wrote a book about his journey through cancer called "Notes from a Candyman".
