Sidharth Mathawan

Sidharth Mathawan is a Screenwriter and Director based in India. Born in Srinagar, Kashmir, he graduated in architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. He started working in films in 2006 and with over 10 years experience as a Production Designer/ Art Director having worked with eminent directors such as Wong Kar-Wai, Emmanuel Lubezki, Deepa Mehta, Farhan Akhtar & Bharat Sikka, Sidharth focused on bringing to life their artistic visions. He was selected for his production design/ art direction works as a Berlinale Talent in 2010. His quest for creative exploration led him towards screenwriting and direction. His shorts have screened at various festivals, 'Mela' played at Boddinale Festival 2014, Berlin, 'CutOff', was a nominated finalist at the ZFF 72, Zurich Film Festival 2016. He was selected for Platform BUSAN in 2017. 'Analog Girl' screened at the Debrief Cannes 2018, La Peniche Cinema, Paris. He formed Electric Monk Motion Pictures with Gagan Mathawan in 2017 and 'The Desire For Desires' is their first short film under the banner. Another short, 'À La Carte' - set in Paris, is in post-production. He is a member of Screenwriters Association, India. The screenplay for his feature 'The Deleted', a psychological drama set in Berlin, was a finalist at the Mediterranean Film Institute film 2 script workshops 2017. Another feature screenplay 'Marie', a drama set in Paris, was selected by the Maison Des Scénaristes' for authors-producers meeting at Festival Du Cannes 2018 and was further selected for TorinoFilmLab Extended - Script Development 2018 program.
