With an eye toward the future, Alan Tyson never looked back after leaving home to pursue a career millions seek every day, a career in acting. Growing up in the bustling city of Columbus, Ohio, the son of a Lawyer and a School Superintendent, he was undoubtedly privileged with support and strength from his family. The youngest of the Tyson clan, he broke into the Arts at the early age of nine. Starring in productions such as "Ramona Quimby" & "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at the local Children's Theatre Company, Alan never missed a beat. When he was offered the chance to be in a commercial promoting adoption, his fate was sealed.
At age 10, Alan decided to answer his calling for Stage & Screen and began the search for what and who would take him to the next level. He took another step when he signed with CAM Talent, one of the top acting/modeling agencies in the Midwest. From that point on, nothing would stop his pursuit! After repeatedly booking industrials, print ads, and vacation bible school videos, his agency and family knew that Alan would someday be someone or something special.
At the tender age of 16, Alan joined The Black Box Theatre Company, created by Steve Black. Here, he began to craft his already developing talent into an art form he knew as acting. He set goals and objectives and started to build upon those skills already acquired. Being cast in plays such as "The Lion in Winter", "You Can't Take it With You", "Puppetteen" (one of many self - written pieces), & "The Scarlet Pimpernel", allowed Alan to see the many possibilities and paths he would take while perfecting his craft.
The next step was college. He needed to choose a school that would allow him the freedom to be himself but also provide the tools that he needed to transform into someone else. The University of North Carolina School of the Arts would be just that environment. Studying under great mentors and idols such as Gerald Freeman, Michele Shay, John Langs, Cynthia Penn, Mary Irwin, Ben Furey, Tanya Belov, Robert Francesconi, & Laura Henry (just to name a few) he knew he finally found the next step in his never ending but growing process of becoming a skilled actor. Working in productions such as "Gem of the Ocean", "Scapino", & "Othello", he took his classical training to the next level.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama, Alan packed up and moved to New York City where he has signed with two major agencies (Don Buchwald & Associates - Commercially & Dulcina Eisen Associates - Legit). Alan has also enlisted the services of talent manager (TalentINK. LA-NY) as he pursued the fast paced world of his dream and true love.
With gratitude and acceptance he decided to move back home to Ohio to be with his family and ground himself in the craft of Acting and Writing. Re-Teaming with his agents from when he was younger, CAM Talent, he hit the pavement again. During the COVID-19 pandemic he still keeps booking zoom readings and commercials and feels blessed to just be alive and doing what he loves.
