Born and raised in Santo Domingo. In 2007, he founded the small independent company Creación Masiva. The awards his shorts received at the III Dominican Global Film Festival, the 26th Chicago Latino Film Festival, the IV Central American Film & Video Exhibition and the 33rd New Latin-American Cinema International Film Festival; certify Francisco Montás as one of the most promising young filmmakers in the country. In early 2010, he participated as guest director in the feature film "Love Child". He also wrote the screenplay for "Scent Of Oblivion", an adaptation of the Dominican bestseller. The film will be directed by the Academy Awards® nominee Bruno Barreto. In 2011, he worked as editor on the American feature film "Sophomore", starring Amanda Plummer and Patrick Warburton, which was released in 2012. In 2015 he produced his first feature film "Spring Rain", directed by Suzette Reyes.
