Biography

Florian Thomas, MD, MA, PhD, is a tenured Professor of Neurology and Associate Professor of Molecular Virology, at St. Louis University, MO. Dr. Thomas is the Director of the National MS Society Centers at St. Louis University and the St. Louis VA Medical Center, and of the Neuropathy Association Center of Excellence at St. Louis University. Dr. Thomas has expertise in multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, pain management, immunology of the peripheral/central nervous systems, neuroAIDS and neurogenetics. His research focuses on MS, spinal cord injury, rehabilitation and the genetics of hereditary neuropathy. Dr. Thomas is a fellow of the AAN and the ANA. He serves on advisory boards for National MS Society, Neuropathy Association, University of Missouri Spinal Cord Injuries Research Program, and the editorial boards of the Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine, Sexuality and Disability, and the Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development.
