One day, after listening to "Last Christmas" by Wham!, Benoit Dobbelstein decided that he could do better and started writing his first songs. Unable to motivate his high school friends to pick up an instrument and form a band, he ended up buying his first synthesizer (Yamaha DX 21) and a computer (Atari ST) to get involved into electronic music, with Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre and Depeche Mode as his early influences. His hobby became a profession. After several years of classical music studies (flute and piano) and playing in several orchestras, Benoit finished his sound engineering studies and eventually ended up as an in-house composer for advertising. He started his own production company "dB minor" in 2003 and became involved in artist/album production (writing, arranging, producing), as well as in writing music for documentaries, animation, short films and features. His style goes from indie Pop/Rock over Electronica to classical Soundtracks.
