James Brown

James Brown is a Vancouver, BC based, Canada Screen Award nominated film and television producer. He produced the 1st season of the animated TV series 'Chuck's Choice' for YTV, and the 2nd season of 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' also for YTV in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation and Cartoon Network. He's currently producing the limited series 'Subway Surfers' for SYBO Games, based on the wildly popular mobile game that just surpassed 1 billion total worldwide downloads. He's gearing up for his next series with DHX, a 26 episode co-production with the 3-time Oscar nominated Irish studio Cartoon Saloon. Prior to joining DHX, James worked in live action, producing independent short and feature films. His most recent film - 'Never Steady, Never Still', directed by Kathleen Hepburn, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and went on to screen at Busan, Valladolid, Palm Springs, Chicago and Vancouver, winning 3 awards at VIFF as well as 4 awards at the 2018 Vancouver Film Critics Circle. Most recently, the film was nominated for 8 Canada Screen Awards. He has produced 4 feature length films and 3 short films which have all screened internationally and successfully sold to territories around the world.
