Ryan J. Brown, originally from North Lincolnshire, graduated from Goldsmiths University of London. After winning the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Award in 2016, he was named a 'Talent to Watch' by the RTS and Gay Times Magazine. Brown is the only screenwriter to have been featured on the UK'S Brit List twice. Hailing from a working-class background, he likes to tell stories we rarely see, with a specific focus on LGBT characters.
Brown is the creator and writer of Wrecked, an original BBC horror-comedy series.
Brown won the BAFTA Rocliffe Award in 2016 for his pilot We Are Your Children. The script was also selected for the first-ever TV Brit List. The series has since contributed to the reopening of a decades-old cold case and is the inspiration for a hit Sony Podcast.
