Biography

Peter Yarin is a pianist, composer, and recording artist based in New York City. A versatile musician spanning classical, jazz, R&B, rock, and musical theater styles, Peter is the principal pianist for the Peter Yarin Trio (modern jazz), Vince Giordano's Nighthawks (early/swing jazz), and Toombs Dixon (early rock/soul). He has performed or recorded with Regina Spektor, Elvis Costello, Liza Minnelli, St. Vincent, Rufus Wainwright, Michael Feinstein, Garrison Keillor, and Bette Midler. Peter's performances have been employed on several film and television soundtracks, including Killers of the Flower Moon, The Queen's Gambit, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. His recordings for Boardwalk Empire earned him a place on its Grammy-winning soundtrack album. Beyond performing, Peter often coaches actors to realistically "play" piano on-screen. In other productions, like HBO's Succession, he himself has appeared on-screen as a musician. Peter is a SAG-AFTRA member. Peter is also involved in musical theater projects. He composed original music for the musical Sempo at Tokyo's New National Theatre and is developing additional musical theater projects, including The Age of Innocence and The Masked Zinfandel.
