Brad Harper

Biography

Brad Harper spent his childhood in Edmond, Oklahoma. The son of a mechanic and court reporter, he spent his childhood playing many sports. He excelled at baseball and swimming in high school. Brad also had a love for music from an early age. His talents playing trumpet and French horn led him to touring during the summer and competing in DCI nationals with Black Gold Drum and Bugle Corp. His introduction to acting began in high school while waiting after baseball practice for his older brother to finish rehearsal for a play. Brad was approached by the high school drama teacher and asked to try out for the drama team. He was recognized as a subtle and effective talent winning many state championships in prose, dramatic and comedic roles. He was offered scholarships to several universities and decided study under the directions of Charles Seat at Northeastern State University. His performances as Romeo in "Romeo and Juliett", Huckabee in "The Fantasticks" and Starbuck in "The Rainmaker" while at NSU received rave reviews and helped him receive a graduate assistance position at the University of New Orleans. While at UNO, Brad studied under Phillip Karnell (Meisner student from the Neighborhood Playhouse, NYC) and received recognition for his performances as Claudio in "Measure for Measure," Orsino in "Twefth Night" and Jean in "Miss Julie" Brad is known as a versatile actor that can bring a Subtle honesty to roles with a knack for creative choices.
