Born and raised in Algiers, Algeria, grew up with a father that has a passion for cinema, his father used to take him to the movies every saturday starting at the age of five. When he was 12, he joined a boxing gym with the guidance of veteran boxer Lamerie, competed the semi pro national where he won the bronze medal. After college and against his parents' wishes, he joined the Algerian police department and moved up in rank to become a homicide detective. As an actor he was known for spartacus in the famous play by Vladimir Vasilev. In the early nineties, he graduated from Terry Schreiber acting school. He also wrote and directed a stage comedy (Hair piece).
