Biography

Paloma Riojas is a Writer/Producer focused on shaping culture through multidimensional and multicultural film, TV, and streaming content. Paloma is one of the ten writers whose original pilot was selected and named on the inaugural Latinx TV List - curated by The Black List, NALIP, Remezcla, The Latin Tracking Board, and the Untitled Latinx Project - in collaboration with Hulu. Paloma is repped by Artists First. Paloma's feature film, "Becoming Bessie" is set up at Mandalay Pictures. She's developing multiple projects in the TV/Film/Podcast space. In 2019, Paloma produced over 50 short-form documentaries centered around youth activism, veganism, and climate change featured in over 400 news outlets. The series won two Silver Telly Awards. Paloma previously collaborated for five years with filmmaker Diego Luna, most recently as a Development Executive. She was Creative Director of "The Journey," a Jarritos commercial directed by Diego Luna. It won the National AAF's Mosaic Award for Multicultural talent in advertising, among other awards. In 2015, Paloma produced and co-wrote "Nana," a short film directed by Diego Luna that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Paloma has also created bilingual content for the Cesar Chavez Foundation, AT&T, and Honda. Paloma's Spanish language short film Adán premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The film earned her both the Audience Award and Jury Award in the Diversity at Cannes Showcase. It also screened at the San Diego Latino Film Festival and won best short film at the Highland Park Film Festival '14 in Los Angeles. Paloma's other short-form work has played at other various film festivals including, LA Short Fest, New York International Latino Film Festival, Athens International Festival, and the USC First Look Festival. Paloma received her MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts (TV/Film Production). During her time at USC, she interned at CAA and Plan B Entertainment. Paloma holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film/TV Production from the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts. She lives, writes, produces, hikes, meditates, sometimes sleeps, and reads most of the time in her native Southern California.
