Andrez Bergen

Andrez Bergen grew up mostly in Melbourne, and briefly on the Gold Coast, in Australia. He attended Melbourne High School and the University of Melbourne, where he majored in history with a thesis on industrial music in Britain in the 1970s. He started making independent movies in 1989, before shifting focus to journalism, as well as making experimental electronic music (as Little Nobody) and running independent label, IF? Records, from 1994. He relocated to Tokyo, Japan, in 2001, where he married artist Yoko Umehara in 2005. The two have a daughter, Cocoa, born the same year, and Bergen's first novel ('Tobacco Stained Mountain Goat') will be published in 2008.
