Biography

Giulio De Vita is one of the most famous Italian comic book artists, and is known worldwide. At age 16, he started working in advertising. In 1993, he debuted as a comic book artist on "Lazarus Ledd" and immediately after wards on superhero covers for Marvel Italia. In 1996, he storyboarded a few musical video clips (among which those for rock stars Zucchero, Vasco Rossi, 883 and Sting) one of which, "Gli Angeli" by Vasco Rossi was directed by Roman Polanski. In 2000, he createed the characters of the animation film "Aida of the Trees", then he returned to comics, landing on the French market which welcomed him with numerous recognitions as one of the major talents of his generation. Among his greatest works are: "Le Décalogue" (2001), three albums in the series "James Healer" (2002), the series "Kylion" (2004) for Disney Italia, also presented at the San Diego Comic-Con, three albums of the series "Wisher" (2006) recently published in the USA in "Heavy Metal" magazine, and the last and most fortunate "Kriss de Valnor" (2010). In 2004, he receives the prestigious "Inter-Auteurs" award at the festival of "Cote d'Azur" (France) as best artist of the year, and in 2008 he is considered by the specialized magazine DBD as one of the best top 10 comic artists of the French-Belgian market. In 2010, together with Vittorio Centrone, he createed the multimedia project "Lemuri the Visionary" (original title: "Lemuri the Visionary"). He lives and works in Pordenone, a small town in North-Eastern Italy.
