John Lauri

John P. Lauri is a Michigan native who was raised in Grosse Pointe Woods. He graduated from University-Liggett school in 1978 and the Gemological Institute Of America (Santa Monica, CA) in 1982. After owning a retail jewelry store and gem testing laboratory in Birmingham Michigan for 16 years he hung up his loupe to embark on a career in motion pictures. John attended The Maine Media Campus in Rockport Maine where he studied motion picture production, directing. post production and Steadicam operation. In 2001 he founded J. Lauri Filmworks where he works as a director, cinematographer, editor and producer. John married Beverly June Ducharme on May 6, 1984 and resides with her in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
