Irfaan Fredericks

Irfaan Fredericks is one of the most sought-after film and television producers based in South Africa. He started his career as a cable basher in 2003 and worked his way up to produce and facilitate prolific independent films with A list talent. Irfaan was the executive producer on Then Came You (2018), starring Asa Butterfield and directed by Peter Hutchings. Irfaan was a producer on The Pirates of Somalia (2017), starring Al Pacino and Melanie Griffith with Evan Peters. Bryan Buckley directed the film. Irfaan was the African facilitation producer on Uncut Gems (2019), starring Adam Sandler and directed by Benny Safdie and Josh Safdie. The studio behind Uncut Gems is A24. He has line produced on the international TV series, SAF3 (2013), from the creators of Baywatch, starring Dolph Lundgren. Irfaan has worked on numerous television commercials and segments of various international TV series, such as Cosmos and Expedition Unknown as a production manager. Irfaan was a shadow producer on Dredd (2012), starring Karl Urban. Pete Travis directed the film. Co-producer on Dredd, Michael S. Murphey, asked Irfaan to become a co-owner of Kalahari Film and Media in 2015. Irfaan and Michael, grew Kalahari Film and Media, into a premier South African based production company that facilitates studio and independent films, as well as producing their own original content. Irfaan Fredericks journey, from a cable basher to producer and company owner, motivated him to co-found The YFP (Young Filmmakers Programme). The YFP is a non-profit company with the mandate to educate South African youth at school level about the viability of employment within the Film and Entertainment industry and to mentor young entrants into the film industry.
