Biography

Mark Maxey is an Emmy award-winning producer and director based in Washington, DC. Maxey wrote, directed and produced the documentary feature "Up to Snuff" about musician/composer W.G. Snuffy Walden, featuring Aaron Sorkin, Martin Sheen, Tom Arnold, Timothy Busfield, Lawrence O'Donnell, Steve Lukather, Eric Burdon, and Snuffy Walden. Maxey's work in television includes producing critically acclaimed programs such as American Valor, The Honors: A Salute to American Heroes, National Memorial Day Parade, and On Stage at the Kennedy Center with the late Marvin Hamlisch. His work has been seen on ABC, CBS, CNN, Discovery, FOX, MSNBC, MTV, NBC, and PBS. Maxey is a member of the Producers Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Maxey is co-founder and chairman emeritus of the Washington West Film Festival, the only film festival to donate 100% of box office proceeds to help children, families and communities in need. Maxey's productions have included such talent as Ed Asner, Kevin Bacon, Bret Baier, Ernest Borgnine, Dean Cain, Brian Dennehy, Michael Douglas, Robert Duvall, R. Lee Ermey, Ken Howard, Megyn Kelly, Taylor Kitsch, James Madio, Joe Mantegna, Julianne Moore, Sean Murray, Mickey Rooney, Mike Rowe, Pat Sajak, Bob Schieffer, Charlie Sheen, Gary Sinise, Tom Sizemore, Kevin Spacey, Kiefer Sutherland, Jon Voight, Judy Woodruff and Presidents Barack Obama and George W.
