Ben Wydeven

Biography

Ben Wydeven has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. During college, he made several films including a 30 minute documentary for class, titled simply, "Haunted House," about an old farmhouse reputed to be haunted, 'The Knight and The Maestro,' about two college roommates with nothing in common, and Time Lag, a satirical time travel movie. In 2007, he wrote and directed the horror/thriller "The Medium," which was shot on location at Wausau's Roger's Theater, rumored to be haunted. The Medium played at several film festivals where it has won several awards. After moving to Madison, Ben produced "The Zombeatles: All You Needs is Brains" which parallels The Beatles history with a zombie twist. In 2012, Ben directed "Quantum of Vengeance," a short film about young woman who travels back in time to kill the person who killed her father. In 2013, Ben directed the short film "D" for the 48 hour film project, which one best editing, best sound design, best use of genre and runner up for best film. In 2014, Ben's team won Best Use of Genre (Film Noir) and Best Use of Character for "Crazy Over Broke." In May of 2014 Ben released "A Hot Summer Chill," a short story adaptation of his short story and based on characters from his novel "Drowning Demons," which is an expanded story from The Medium.
