Attended Coral Gables (Fla.) High School, where he was one of the nation's most heavily-recruited running backs after setting a Dade County record for rushing yards in a season with 2,953 yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior in 2000. Rushed for 1,559 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior in 1999 in addition to posting 301 receiving yards and four more scores through the air. Listed as the best running back on the Florida Times-Union Super 75 list and earned SuperPrep All-America honors. Majored in business management and organization at Miami.
