Biography

Eclectic by nature Angie maintains a full time teaching job to support her other passions. She completed a Ph.D. in American History (University of Idaho). Her specialty is 20th Century America with an emphasis on women in non-traditional roles. Her dissertation is a historical biography of Martha Gellhorn, Martha Gellhorn: Myth Motif and Remembrance. In 1988, Dorman and Gellhorn began a correspondence which lasted until Gellhorn's death. She has consulted on several projects related to Gellhorn. She has also worked consulting on projects dealing with photographer Lee Miller, the OSS, WASPs and Anne Noggle. Dorman is working on a stage production which features the writing and voices of young students from a migrant community. The production date is set for August-September 2008. She is also advocates for immigrants and students, and is crusader for education reform.
