Marqueta Smith is a Los Angeles native and Howard University Alumnus with a Bachelors Degree in Television Production. Her vast entertainment background, which includes: E! Entertainment, The Steve Harvey Morning Show, PMK-BNC, and Interscope Records, led her to work with highly esteemed Movie Directors Bryan Barber and F. Gary Gray where she honed her screen writing craft. Her first screenplay, The Stranger Within, awarded her a fellowship with the Bill Cosby Screenwriting Program at the University of Southern California and a Finalist Position with The Organization of Black Screenwriters, Feature Film Competition. She also placed as a Finalist in the TVWriter.com and ExtremeScreenwriter.com Screenwriting competitions. She has completed three more screenplays, Houseswap, The Key Club and Cane and Able, and is working on the development of a new talk show, a web series, a few shorts films, several new screenplays, and an Independent feature with her production company MS Studios.
