Born in Teaneck, New Jersey right outside of New York City, Kaypri began acting in sixth grade and wrote her first play in the seventh. After performing in several high school plays and lip sync contests, she was fortunate to acquire a BFA in Acting from the College of Fine Arts at Howard University. In her undergrad years, Kaypri also took several writing classes and in her senior year conceived the challenge of her career, merging her acting and writing talents to create Babygirl.
Babygirl, the coming of age sitcom/drama of a media-codependa-lova-holic, takes her audience through the first loves and losses of childhood, the peer pressures of adolescence, the great expectations of campus life, and finally to the realization that though pop culture might always be our first love, "Sometimes we have to push the off button to find ourselves."
While substitute teaching in the NY area, Kaypri discovered a new audience: adolescents. Since then she has brought her story to youth in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Chicago and Los Angeles.
In addition to performing and producing Babygirl under her Priscilla Belle Productions banner, Kaypri co-authored and edited her late mother's autobiography I Didn't Know What I Didn't Know A Southern White Woman's Story About Race. Her mother Dorothy had Altzheimers and had worked on the book for over fifteen years. Kaypri finished the first version of the book for Dorothy's 80th birthday in 2012 and released it worldwide in the Spring of 2014. In 2015 Kaypri received an award from the AARP for a PSA on Caregiving that featured both she and her late mother. It was put on the AARP Website in 2016 on Mother's Day. Is September 2016 at article that featured her titled "The Unfinished Business of Altzheimers was published in The Wall Street Journal. Her current project is her new solo play The Good Daughter and The Do Gooder which explores her caregiving journey.
