Michael Stevenson was born in Sydney, Australia. He moved around a lot as a child, attending five Primary Schools. He was the first ever "Dux of the school" at Woodberry Primary School the year it opened. While at the University of New England, where he was studying 'Wildlife Management', he trained as a radio announcer, fronting a regular late-night spot on Armidale radio. Moving back to Woodberry, he had a regular weekly spot on 2NUR-FM.
Working in a factory for five years, he appeared in numerous productions for film and television, including uncredited roles in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome" (1985), "Archer's Adventure" (1985), "Burke and Wills" (1985), "Tusitaler" (1986), "Harp in the South" (1987), and "Great Expectations, the Untold Story" (1987), as well as speaking parts in "The Cowra Breakout" (1984), and "Dream Ahead" (1985).
In 1986, he joined the Australian Federal Police, spending some years in Public Relations where he wrote and appeared in Police shows on both WIN and Capital Television. He also wrote a weekly column for the local newspaper, recorded voice-overs for WIN TV commercials, and was the operator of the AFP's children's mascot, Constable Kenny Koala. He trained as an explosives technician and was a member of the Australian Federal Police Bomb Squad.
Having retired from the AFP, he is a single father, having raised his daughter from the age of 10 months.
He was a Tai Chi Instructor, and also trained in Ninjutsu.
A keen Dr Who fan since its inception in 1963, it is his dream to one day have a walk-on part in an episode.
