Biography

Marc Parees is a Brooklyn-based writer and director, originally from Emmaus, Pennsylvania. His recent award-winning short Little Ones has had over twenty festival screenings nationally and internationally. His other films include WWJD, Saveta's Gift, and Over There and have played throughout the United States. His award-winning commercial Million in the Mirror for the Avon/Love Army of Women breast cancer initiative aired nationally. Marc trained as a classical ballet dancer for thirteen years before earning a BFA in Drama at NYU. After ten years of directing innovative theater and collaborating with artists like Craig Lucas, Derek Anson Jones and Taylor Mac, he completed his MFA in Film at NYU. In the fall of 2013, he was included in the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Artist Academy in conjunction with the New York Film Festival. Marc is developing three television pilots and four feature screenplays, including the comedy Southside of Main, as well as the surreal drama Facing Phoenix.
