Joseph Wallace is a film and theatre director. His practice is fuelled by a desire to tell stories by utilising whatever may be around him. Joseph has created animations for film, theatre and television and his live-action work includes dance and fashion films. Clients include; BBC, Bristol Old Vic and Real Design and Media. His short films have won awards and been screened at many festivals internationally.
He has performed, written and directed for theatre working mostly on devised ensemble productions as well as scripted pieces. Joseph is an associate artist of Twisted Theatre, Fairground, Bristol Old Vic Young Company and the Wardrobe Theatre. His illustration work ranges from promotional pieces to collaborative artworks and has been exhibited in galleries in the UK.
Writing plays a large part in all his work and he has written for film and theatre. He runs his own blog as well as contributing to others and has written articles for animation publications. Joseph has a first class honours degree in animation from Newport Film School, has trained as a performer and theatre-maker and has also studied film production on the European professional training course Animation Sans Frontières.
