Dawn Brett-Hauschild is a writer-producer who specializes in documentary film and unscripted television. A skilled story editor and freelance story consultant, Dawn has worked with international award-winning directors, leading Canadian production companies and emerging artists to create compelling narratives grounded in thoughtful character development and story structure.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism, Honours, from Carleton University's School of Journalism in Ottawa, Dawn has co-written, co-directed, produced and story consulted on independent productions for CTV, CBC Television, Global Television, Discovery Health, W network, HGTV U.S. and the National Film Board of Canada, among others. She was also associate producer on one of Canada's most provocative and top-grossing documentary films, The Corporation, which received 26 international awards, including the Audience Award for World Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004.
Dawn is a British-born Canadian permanent resident who grew up attending French Immersion school in Calgary, Alberta. She now lives on a small island minutes off West Vancouver with her record producer husband, Winston Hauschild. Together they share a young son and a dog named Dave.
