Lili Wilde

Photographer and cinematographer Lili Wilde started in the early nineties as a writer, photographer, and correspondent for Lisbon's music weekly Blitz. She immediately joined Melody Maker, the world-famous but now defunct music paper, where bands like Oasis and Supergrass, among many others, made their debut in print in photos by Ms. Wilde. Since then, she has published photographs in publications from more than thirty countries, including The Times of London, The Guardian, and The Washington Post, and in numerous music biographies. She has photographed Trent Reznor, Marilyn Manson, Kurt Cobain, Bjork, Nick Cave, Paul McCartney, Lou Reed, and The Cure, and has worked with the filmmaker Donald Takeshita-Guy on most of his film projects. She has collaborated with multiple award-winning BBC Newsnight journalist Greg Palast, making Picture of the Day in 2006 in the Publishers of America Weekly. In 2009 she worked with filmmaker Matthew Mishory on his experimental portrait of Derek Jarman, Delphinium. The film was shot by Ms. Wilde on a variety of media, including super8, on stages and across London and at Dungeness, Kent. The film screened at the Raindance Film Festival, the BFI London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and dozens of others around the world. Ms. Wilde lives with her husband, Shane, a musician and surgeon-in-training, in London.
