Lana Leigh Taylor was born Lana Eartha Scott in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised in Mount Airy. She is the youngest of three. She has a sister Nioka Scott and brother Robert Arthur Scott. Her mother Barbara Joyce Scott (nee Newsome) is a retired Seamstress and Homemaker. Her Father Robert Arthur Scott is a retired Navy Veteran and was honorably discharged from Vietnam. Her parents separated when she was born and later divorced when she was 6. Lana was raised by her mother. She began training and performing as a young actress in Elementary school productions and in her community. She starred in a middle school production of the musical, "Purlie" as Lutiebelle. This production lead to many opportunities in her growing career. Lana is an alumni of The High School for Creative and Performing Arts in Philadelphia. She was classically trained as an actress and minored in dance. She attended Freedom Theater and Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts on scholarship. She is an alumni of Stella Adler Academy in Los Angeles. She studied on a summer Scholarship under the late Irene Gilbert.
