Biography

Gerard Gil (b. Tarragona 1976) has a bachelor's degree in audiovisual communication. He has worked as a screenwriter, cameraman, director and editor for several Catalan broadcast media (Btv, TV3, Mediapro). In 2005, along with Blai Mesa and David Fernández, he set up his own company: La Ferida Produccions. Ever since, he has directed and edited several short experimental pieces, as well as documentaries like "Cirlot, la Mirada de Bronwyn" (UAB international Film Essay award 2005) or "Maya Deren, Take Zero", co-directed with Jaime Ballada (Oficial Section IFF Rotterdam 2012). As a film composer, he's responsible for the soundtracks of films such as "Los Condenados", "Los Pasos Dobles"(Concha de Oro San Sebastián 2011) or "La Propera Pell", all by Isaki Lacuesta, and also for documentaries like "Qatar, the Race", by Alba Sotorra as well as for many of his own film works.
