A 2006 Savannah College of Art and Design graduate, Doug double majored in Visual Effects and Film, but started his professional career in Visual Effects before finishing school. Taking on the role and responsibilities of VFX Supervisor for the 2008 Illumination Filmworks independent feature film, "Baby Blues" at the age of 21.
This early start gave Doug the momentum to tackle other exciting projects like the 2007 stereoscopic IMAX film, "Dinosaurs 3D: Giants of Patagonia". Which was nominated for a 6th Annual VES Award in the 'Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project' category.
After that film completed, he began working as Lead Nuke Compositor at the VFX studio Speedshape in Detroit. Where during his 2 year tenure, he not only worked with such brands as Ford, GM, Hewlett Packard, Intel, & Jack Daniels, but he also helped to build the studio's Nuke compositing pipeline from the ground up.
Then in 2009, he and his wife Jessica Hogan, left Speedshape to start work at Reel FX Creative Studios in Dallas, TX as Lighter / Compositors. Making the leap from the commercial world back to feature film once again.
