Gerhard hails from the small town of Rocanville, Saskatchewan originally. Gerhard has a B.F.A in Acting from the University of Regina and a Certificate in the Performing Arts from the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria. In addition to acting for the stage and screen he has studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern and Stage Combat. Gerhard has appeared in various series, radio commercials, and television programs in Canada. His theatre credits include "Long Day's Journey Into Night", "Blood Wedding", "Can You See Me Yet?", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and "Little Shop of Horrors".
He received an entrance scholarship with the Canadian College of Performing Arts and the Canadian Heritage Arts Society's Outstanding Achievement Award. In 2002 he wrote Asylum for Lewis and toured the show in British Columbia and Saskatchewan with a cast of Canadian performers from the Canadian College of Performing Arts. He continues to perform wherever the opportunity arises and is the Regional Manager for Western Canada for the Royal Conservatory of Music Learning Through the Arts (LTTA) program. He is also the National Advisory Board representative for BC and the Yukon for the Actors Fund of Canada. He travels frequently and happily calls the west coast of British Columbia home.
