Brian Avers is a celebrated stage & screen actor, writer, director and producer, having performed in several Broadway and Off-B'way premieres, including Florian Zeller's The Father (opposite Frank Langella, 2016 Tony Winner for Best Actor), Rock N Roll by Tom Stoppard, The Lieutenant of Inishmore by Martin McDonagh, Poor Behavior by Theresa Rebeck, Completeness by Itamar Moses, and most recently, opposite Kerry Washington in American Son, directed by Kenny Leon. Brian's appeared as a guest star in a number of popular network shows including NCIS & NCIS LA as Agent Mike Renko, the Castle pilot for ABC, Law & Order SVU & more. Film appearances include Julie / Julia, In Lieu of Flowers, and Gigantic (opposite Paul Dano & Zooey Deschanel); he is also a busy VO artist, fronting several national campaigns, playing characters in video games like Red Dead Redemption 2, and narrating a number of audiobooks for Audible in several genres. Brian received an MFA in Acting from NYU in 2006, where he was one of only twelve artists to receive the A.V. Global Fellowship. Previously, he attended Marymount Manhattan College, the British American Drama Academy in London, and Thomas Worthington High School. Shortly after leaving NYU, Brian was cast as Edgar in the Public Theater's production of King Lear, opposite Kevin Kline and Logan Marshall-Green. In 2013, Brian created and directed micro-budget indie comedy The Weekend (2013), which was developed in one week, and shot in only three and a half days. From 2012-2016, Brian produced and co-hosted The Buckeye Brothers, an irreverent, popular sports podcast. Several projects for TV, film, stage and new media are in the works. Brian was born on September 14, 1978, in Columbus, OH, USA. He splits time between NY & LA; he is married to actress / VO artist Amy Lynn Stewart, with a precocious 6-year-old son named Bodhi.
