Tom Maroney

Tom Maroney is an Emmy-nominated documentary editor with over 15 years working in nonfiction, known for Science Fair and Nobody Speak: Trials of The Free Press, both of which premiered at Sundance (2018 and 2017 respectively). Science Fair won the Festival Favorite award and Nobody Speak sold at Sundance and was released as a Netflix Original Documentary. Maroney has edited and story produced numerous other documentaries and non-fiction series for the Discovery Channel, PBS, Showtime, A&E, and National Geographic. He also edited Participant Media's award-winning series Truth and Power and the Emmy-nominated Got Your 6 for MTV News. Maroney studied literature and narrative theory as an undergrad at Virginia Tech, and through the Master's program at San Francisco State. He lives in Los Angeles, and loves exploring the outdoors, traveling and trying strange cheeses.
