Biography

California born and Arkansas bred, Lisa Cole is a writer + director sharing women's stories exploring themes of neglect, self-determination and redemption. She co-wrote "Girl Named Sue" based on the true story of Sue Webber-Brown in Northern California and her calling to save children from dangerous drug homes. Lisa's background includes directing documentaries for The Gates Foundation, Sundance and networks, including films highlighting women's health and safety in the DRC and Kenya. Accolades include Regional Finalist, Student Academy Awards and 'Rock Doc of the Year', LA Music Awards. A board member of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Lisa graduated from Loyola Marymount and resides in Los Angeles.
