Biography

Kent Bassett is an Emmy-nominated editor and filmmaker. He directed This Might Hurt (Austin Film Festival), a feature documentary about chronic pain and a radical new treatment. His most recent work as editor is Not Going Quietly (Tribeca) about health care activist Ady Barkan. He edited Standing Up (DOC NYC) about three unlikely aspiring comedians, as well as the Emmy-nominated Personal Statement (AFI Docs, PBS World Channel), about youth leaders fighting to bring their peers to college. He has a BA in history from Swarthmore College, and an MFA in film production from Chapman University. His narrative work includes the short film, "The Line" (Brooklyn film festival), and "A Period Piece" (SXSW).
