Jim Lewis

Biography

Jim Lewis is an American television and film producer, responsible for shows such as The Great American Car War, Skating's Next Star and more. He also has produced numerous space documentaries and documentary series including; One Giant Leap, America's Animal Astronaut Heroes, Untold Stories from the Rocket Ranch and others. He served as line producer for the Space Brothers feature film and he was part of a team that won a regional Emmy for live mission coverage of STS-95 John Glenn Space Shuttle launch. He received the Kolcum Award from the National Space Club for his contributions publicizing the space industry. Lewis was born in Rochester, New York and named after his father, James C. Lewis, Sr. He started a television production company, Communications Concepts, Inc. (CCI) in January 1978. The company went on to produce live television coverage of rocket launches from space centers in Florida and California in the United States and from Baikonur in Kazakhstan. He guided to firm to produce complete coverage for the Malaysian Government of their astronaut's mission on the International Space Station. Lewis continues to work on a variety of productions with automotive talk show pilot recently being network accepted and feature film in development. A skilled photographer and avid motor-sports fan still calls Florida home, but also spends time Arlington, Virginia just outside of DC.
