Mr. Kay began his career at a very early age by interning at Panavision's worldwide headquarters in Los Angeles, where he learned all of the latest technological tools, and made relationships with the industry's top-tier filmmakers. Through persistence and hard work, he quickly established a solid reputation as a problem solver and the "go to guy" for both Panavision, and the freelance professionals that came through. Panavision recognized his attention to detail and follow through and then hired him full time.
In 2000, Mr. Kay transitioned to working as a freelance media professional so he could meet new challenges. With his in-depth technical knowledge and relationships with a robust network of industry professionals, he swiftly moved to working freelance for studios on movies and television shows.
Mr. Kay used his experiences working in different roles on set to learn the insider tricks-of-the-trade from filmmaking masters, as well as learn and fully understand each position's unique responsibilities, expectations, and time requirements. This knowledge helps to better manage schedules and budgets to maximize production value and minimize financial risk.
Most recently, Mr. Kay produced "The Forger", A story about a teenager who wanders into Carmel, California, where he is soon introduced to the art-forgery community starring Josh Hutcherson, Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Bacall and Alfred Molina.
