Belfast born, Leo McGuigan developed a fondness for film and television at age 5 when he was making camcorder films.
He appeared in Give My Head Peace in 2004 and Dry Your Eyes in 2006. Later that same year, he appeared in the CITV drama series "Bel's Boys", which was the first children's series to be produced entirely in Northern Ireland.
Since then Leo has focused on filmmaking from behind the camera with directing indie shorts and the low-budget feature indie "Braxton Butcher", producing award winning short films including "Time & Again" and more recently the NI Screen/BFI short film "Finding Shakespeare". Leo will next be directing the NI Screen short film "The Invention", a child's comic tale of adventure's during Belfast 1968.
