From Miami Beach, Florida, he would spend 7 years working in the Chinese film industry in Shanghai, China before moving to Cairo, Egypt to document the uprising of 2011. "The Square (2013)" would go on to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. He resides in Los Angeles, California.
