Keith O'Grady is a director who also regularly works in other disciplines. He began his career as an actor in 1999, training for a year in Dublin, after studying film in England. He acted in theatre, and on screen, and then from 2002 to 2005, he took a break away from film/TV production entirely; due to the birth of his first child. He taught film production full-time for a year, and then continued to do it part-time, while spending time with his child, and producing a Dogme-styled 'Hamlet' film in 2005. He produced and shot the micro-budget feature 'Hamlet'. It was an Ireland-set version of the Bards play, starring, adapted by and directed by Stephen Cavanagh. The cast included Simone Kirby, James Lecky, Chris Patrick-Simpson and PJ Gallagher. He has been working ever since, continuing to work in both documentary and drama.
